New User Interface Customizations and the Beloved Favicon

This week, Twitter has been buzzing with the news that Basecamp – poster child for the cult of ‘opinionated software’ has released...

...(drumrolls)...

The ability to upload custom Favicons.

Yep. The little icon that shows up in your browser bar when you load a website.

Apparently, Basecamp users have been asking for this feature for ages, so no doubt they’ll be pleased.

Actually, one of our users still has a Basecamp account as well, and he was quite impressed. Impressed enough to email us over the weekend asking if we could do the same. We did consider sending him a long email response to explain that uploadable Favicons have no functional benefit, and following that up with a couple of blog posts explaining the complete superiority of our authentic and original BlueCamroo Favicon.

And then we thought: "What the heck. He’s a customer. He pays our wages. Why not?"

And then we thought: "You know, if people want to change the Favicon, perhaps they’d like to change the colour scheme, and maybe customize their log-in page too."

So, today we would like to announce the release of custom Favicons, themes, and login page customization. We hope you like them.

And we’re sorry it’s taken us a whole week.
