So this just happened to me while visiting a friend in Massachusetts. My friend and his fiancée live in an apartment in the basement of his mother-in-laws house. There are two doors to the apartment, one at the top of the stairs leading into the basement, and one at the immediate entrance to the apartment. My friend is an actor, and his fiancée and I went to see his show. After the show we all went out to eat. When we got home it was about 1am. Now, a lot of people live in the house upstairs, but everyone was asleep when we came in, and for the most part, everyone lives on the second floor and has no reason to come downstairs at night. So we stayed up talking for a while, and turn by turn, we all go upstairs to use the bathroom and get ready for bed. I was the second to last person to go up and while I was upstairs, I heard absolutely nothing. Everyone was upstairs, asleep. So my friend goes to use the bathroom and he can’t get the top door to the basement open. He calls down to us and his fiancée tells him to just turn the handle harder, but it won’t budge. I go up and try to help him get it open but nothing is working. Suddenly we hear these big booming footsteps coming toward the door. Our hearts start racing and we run back down the stairs. Suddenly it’s silent again. We wait a couple of minutes and his fiancée goes to try to get the door open. Finally, we manage to unlock it using a small screwdriver. We all walked up and looked around. No one was awake, and no one else seemed to have heard the footsteps even though it felt like they were big enough to shake the whole house. Also, no one admitted to locking the door, and it was definitely locked from the outside. We just went back down and locked the second door and went to sleep. I’m not sure what happened, but I was very concerned.

FYNK James: 7/10 I would have stayed away from the door for the entire night, damn. Thanks for sharing the scares!
