Amityville Horror House Goes Up For Sale
The house at 108 Ocean Avenue, which was formally addressed as 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York is back up for sale and can be yours for $850,000. The ad says it’s a ‘stately center hall colonial’ but fails to mention of the mass murder that happened there in 1974.
The house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms with a large boat house and a two-car garage and is completed with the ghosts of the murder victims!
It was on the night of November 13, 1974, that Ronald DeFeo killed his mother, father, and four siblings by shooting them as they laid in their beds according to the Police.
Ronald said to the Police that voices in the house told him to kill his family, and he was later sentenced to six consecutive life sentences and is currently serving time at the Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg, New York.
The family that later moved into the house said they witnessed paranormal, such as strange odors, inexplicable sounds, doors closing, and a chilling cold.
The alleged experiences led to book ‘The Amityville Horror’ written by Jay Anson as well as numerous movies about the story.
Currently listed for $850,000, this Long Island home for sale through Coldwell Banker Harbor Light owner and broker Jerry O’Neil.
“I’m very familiar with the house,” Jerry said, “A friend of mine from high school, his family owned it. I spent a lot of time in this house as a kid. It’s a beautiful home.”
