starrywisdomsect:

Edward Gorey’s Fantod Pack was first published in 1995. It is a 20 card tarot deck featuring a guide to interpreting the cards by Madame Groeda Weyrd.

“Now that you have learned of all the dreadful things that have overtaken your friends and relations during the past year as scribbled on the inside of their Christmas cards, don’t you want to know what dreadful things lie in wait for you?”

Look, all I want is to have this deck and use it to read the fates of characters in a LARP Agatha Christie murder game or 1920s Call of Cthulhu. I don’t care if the characters believe me or not or what my cartomancy skills are. But I only want the Storytellers running the game to correct me if my reading is actually wrong.

(Me and my tarot cards were almost banned several times on ‘cheating’ charges for utterly derailing not only local, mid level, but also national plot many times in old Cam WoD LARP. It really was not me – I’d rarely spoken to the STs  or the characters when I read. It was my cards. They love LARP drama and remain horribly on point with real life or pretend issues to this day.)
