Reaching into the Cloud
Sometimes in order to improve your business, you have to extend your reach. Sometimes that reach is to other target customers, sometimes to new suppliers, and sometimes to new technology. Reaching out is usually what takes our businesses to the next level.
There is one area of reach however, that can greatly increase the reach that I have into other areas, and this is The Cloud.
What is the cloud? You’ve probably heard the term pop-up more and more often over the past year – with CIOs and Techno-gurus shouting the term from atop of rooftops and how it greatly reduce your IT infrastructure costs and more. In a nutshell, the Cloud is the new fancy way to say the Internet. And cloud computing is the aspect of using the Internet to deliver applications, catered toward businesses; that business teams can use a web browser to access servers which host these business applications outside of the business network.
If more businesses start listening to what many of the CIOs and Techno-gurus are saying about cloud computing, I believe they will be able to strongly benefit from many of the cloud-based offerings that are out there.
Take Google for example. They have Google Docs, GMail, Photos, Calendars and more and businesses are already using these services to their advantage to improve communication and collaboration with world-wide teams. Businesses are expanding their reach within their organization and with customers.
Take another look at the existing project management, CRM, Lead Management, Ticketing Systems, or those that are all-in-one, that are all web-based, hosted in the cloud. Not only do they save businesses money from incurring the costs of purchasing software outright and hosting and supporting the software, but these web-based (cloud apps) are allowing businesses to expand their communicative and collaborative reach with their business teams and customers.
So if your business is looking to expand its reach or cut down on costs of adopting new technologies, you might want to start looking up to the cloud.
