The Landmark #Inn in Marquette, #Michigan began construction in 1917, and was opened in 1930 as The Northland #Hotel. It is said to be #haunted by the #spirit of a woman who was #murdered during the time of the inn’s construction, and whose body was allegedly buried beneath the building’s foundation by her #killer. Ever since, construction workers and hotel employees entering the #basement have reported hearing the disembodied sounds of a woman weeping, or feeling a strange, unnatural presence. Another spirit rumored to haunt the Landmark Inn is that of a woman who mysteriously passed away on the 6th floor after discovering her fiance had been killed at sea. Guests staying on the 6th floor often report encountering the woman’s #apparition wandering the hallways at night, in addition to experiencing other strange #paranormal phenomena, such as hearing the sounds of disembodied voices, whispers, and footsteps. Employees working at the hotel’s front desk have also reported receiving telephone calls from vacant rooms on the 6th floor.
