Hackley Public Library in Muskegon, Michigan:
The #historic Hackley Public #Library was constructed as a gift for the town of #Muskegon by a wealthy philanthropist and businessman named Charles H. Hackley. Charles Hackley remained a prominent figure in the development of the town until his #death in February of 1905, and is now said to haunt the old library. Ever since his death library employees and visitors have claimed to encounter the #spirit of a man dressed in Victorian era clothing believed to be Mr. Hackley. Many also report hearing the sounds of #DisembodiedVoices and whispers, as well as witnessing books and other objects being thrown across the room by an unseen #entity. The Hackley Public Library was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 27, 1972, and in 2014 underwent renovations to restore its interior costing over $1.2 million. The library also hosts a free annual #ghost tour for Muskegon residents during the #Halloween season.
