The Truth Behind the Slenderman Sightings
Last month there were reported sightings on Slenderman in Cannock Chase, UK but what was behind these sightings?
Should the eye witnesses be believed? Or are they just another bunch of over imaginative folk with a story to tell?
The talk dark shadowy figure called Slenderman is here to stay as sightings continue, it would seem that Slender Man never rests! Read some eyewitness accounts:
“I was awoken just before 2am by an odd scratching noise in my bedroom. To my astonishment, there was what seemed like a sphere-shaped shadow by the edge of my wardrobe. As I tried to get out of bed and investigate further, the shadow began to stretch towards the ceiling. It was at that point I found myself faced with the most disgusting and horrific creature imaginable. It was about eight feet tall and had a white face with razor-sharp fangs.”
from resident of Pye Green.
“As my eyes opened, I saw a man floating over me. I could see into his eyes. They were a fierce red colour that shook me to my very core. The ordeal ended when the man, who was completely dressed in black with a hat to match, floated higher and higher until he hit my ceiling and disappeared.”
From resident of Slitting Mill, Rugeley.
“It appeared to rise out of the trees and hover over the path around 100m in front of me. It was very dark, but I could see it clearly because of the lights coming from Rugeley. It was also a pretty clear night. If I were to compare it to anything, I would say it looked like a stereotypical Victorian gentleman – long, black overcoat with a homburg hat. I know this was no flying human because it had blood red eyes that shone in the night sky. It also had a mouth full of teeth that seemed to look like razors. Whatever it was, it stopped hovering and descended back into the trees. Needless to say, I did not investigate any further.”

Paranormal Investigator Lee Brickley says he’s convinced that they’re not lying, and that these may be real-life sightings of Slender Man.
One Paranormal Investigator has suggested that what these people are calling Slenderman is in fact ‘Shadow Person’.
A shadow person (also known as a shadow figure, shadow being or black mass) is the perception of a patch of shadow as a living, humanoid figure, particularly as interpreted by believers in the supernatural as the presence of a malevolent entity.
Witnesses around the planet, and reported these sightings and that they have been documented by paranormal investigators. The shadow people have been described as wearing a hat, being red-eyed and even having teeth.
People have even reported symptoms of sleep paralysis after a sighting of Shadow Person. So what seems to be the Slenderman-obsessed population may well be documented sightings of shadow people.
Ghost Hunted Stalked by Smelly Spirit
Laura Dickson, 27, of Sittingbourne, Kent, UK claims she is haunted by a ghost that has a fishy odour, and when ever she detects that smell something bad happens to a friend or family member.
Laura, an amateur photographer, and now a ghost hunter said this spirit has been haunting her for about 10 years, and she has learned not to fear it.
Instead she just accepts it and heeds the ‘fishy smell’ as a warning to be careful.
Ms. Dickson said, “The pong always appeared right before something bad happened.”
“Ever since I was 9 or 10, I’ve sensed spirits around me. I’d pick up on presences in the room and the fishy smell would come as a warning.”
Laura says she’s the only female UK ghost hunter and that she likes to visited old buildings to take photos.
Saying that, “I noticed a number of my pictures were covered in light orbs.”
“When I researched it online, I learnt that some people believe it indicates a spirit present in the picture.”
“This made me think, ‘I’m going to catch more than light orbs'”.
“So I continued scouring old buildings, snapping away.”
Last January Ms Dickson, who works fulltime as a machinist, was picture taking at St Peter and St Paul church in Borden, Kent, when she captured a mysterious image in her photo.
“In one of the pictures, a ghostly figure was standing in the window of the church”, she said.
“I glance up and the ghost had disappeared.”
“When I got back home and uploaded the pictures onto my laptop, I zoomed into the image I noticed it looked like a monk.”
“I did some research and discovered the church was founded by monks hundreds of years ago.”
“I realized it must have been haunted by them and I’d caught one on camera and I know it’s a real ghost.”
“And it’s just made me even more determined to catch spirits on camera.”
“I suppose you could call me a real-life ghost hunter.”
