Shiro Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Novi, Michigan:Shiro…

Shiro Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Novi, Michigan:

Shiro #Restaurant & #Sushi Bar in Novi, #Michigan was constructed in 1929 by a wealthy businessman named Charles Rogers, who built the #mansion using partially recycled pieces of an old farmhouse that once occupied the location. The estate was known as the White House Manor, named after the company which was founded by Charles Rogers called the White House Milk Co. It was moved to its current location in the early 1980’s and renovated for use as a restaurant, which many believe to be #haunted by the #spirit of the late Mr. Rogers, and his wife Harriet. Guests dining at the restaurant often report witnessing the apparition of a man believed to be Charles Rogers, as well as experiencing other unexplained #paranormal phenomena, such as lights turning on and off by themselves, and witnessing objects such as plates and silverware being moved by an unseen entity. Employees also report hearing the sounds of disembodied footsteps, voices, and other strange noises coming from empty areas of the building, with some allegedly refusing to enter the building’s attic out of fear. According to one popular #UrbanLegend, Charles Rogers died of a broken heart after finding out his daughter had run away to elope, however no #historical evidence currently is available to support this claim.

Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles, Michigan:Silverbrook #Cemetery in…

Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles, Michigan:

Silverbrook #Cemetery in Niles, #Michigan was established in 1836, and holds over 19,000 burial plots. The historic cemetery is known for being the final resting place for many of Niles’ prominent founders, politicians, #CivilWar soldiers, and many others. One popular #folklore story told by locals claims that an alleged #witch was buried at Silverbrook Cemetery in the late 1800’s, whose #ghost now haunts the location. The origins of this story can be traced back to the grave of a young woman named Anna Eisner, who died tragically in a shipwreck in 1875 at the age of 18. Anna’s grave is one of few horizontally facing memorials in the cemetery, with two up-side-down torches displayed prominently in the center, which many over the years have mistaken for two broomsticks. This led to accusations that Anna Eisner was a practitioner of #witchcraft, however many historians note that an up-side-down torch on a headstone typically symbolizes the extinguishing of life. Despite this, many still claim that Silverbrook Cemetery is #haunted by the #spirit of Anna Eisner, or perhaps the #spirits of other men and women who are buried there. #Paranormal enthusiasts and others who enter the cemetery late at night report hearing the sounds of disembodied voices, moans, and cries which defy explanation, and often appear to originate from a large #crypt at the cemetery’s center. Many also report experiencing sudden cold spots, or feeling a strange presence when walking through the cemetery alone.
